Like most people in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, I am terribly excited about having our public library back. It’s beautiful and has retained many of its fabulous features, like the giant metal nīkau.
I’m delighted to say I will be reading a few poems there next Saturday 11th April with some fabulous poets, as part of the library’s Explore Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui Weekend. There are other poetry events to enjoy too.
The event I’m in will be hosted by our New Zealand Reading Ambassador, the wonderful Kate De Goldi. I will be joining an excellent line-up of local poets: Jenny Bornholdt, James Brown, Tim Jones, Sudha Rao, Harry Ricketts and Ashleigh Young.
Details:
When: Saturday, 11 April 2026, 1 – 2pm
Where: the bleachers of Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui – the Wellington Public Library
(near the Harris Street entrance).
All are welcome. It’s a free event.
